<p><strong>SURFERS PARADISE, QLD/Australia (Wednesday, February 27, 2013) -</strong> It&#8217;s less than 24 hours until the world&#8217;s best surfers gather at the QT Hotel in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. The 2013 ASP World Surfing Awards will celebrate the achievements and performances from last year, while at the same time officially launching the 2013 Men&#8217;s and Women&#8217;s ASP World Championship Tours.</p>
<p>The 2013 ASP World Surfing Awards have set a new record for the amount of people the LIVE broadcast will reach, going into tens of millions via Globosat in Brazil, MCS Extrême in Europe and select African countries, Fuel TV in Australia, Time Warner Cable in the US and Hawaii online via Red Bull.TV. The online broadcast will feature a five to ten minute pre-awards blue carpet highlights reel.</p>
<p>The online broadcast and Fuel TV Australia show will begin at 9pm local time, 11am on MCS Extrême, Globosat in Brazil will air from 8am to 9:30 and and for Time Warner Cable in the US and Hawaii check your local guide for air times.</p>

<p><strong>COOLANGATTA, QLD/Australia (Thursday, December 06, 2012) –</strong> 2013 will see the ASP celebrate 30 years of crowning World Champions at the prestigious awards ceremony. What began in Hawaii has moved to the Gold Coast, QLD, Australia with 2013 seeing the ASP World Surfing Awards continue to evolve with a dynamic, new format.</p>
<p>Last year saw the first ASP World Surfing Awards live webcast with hundreds of thousands of surfing fans watching LIVE on YouTube and various TV Networks around the globe. Due to the success of last season’s broadcast, the 2013 ASP WSA’s will be a more content focused event, with never before seen videos and all the best action from a fantastic year of competitive surfing. Guests in the room will be seated in theatre rows as opposed to banquet tables, and will once again be treated to world-class hosts and musical artists.</p>
<p>Changes include:</p>
<p>• The event will be divided into two components; Blue Carpet Event followed by a theatre-style Awards Show.</p>
<p>• Blue Carpet Event will be a cocktail party with great food, drinks and entertainment.</p>
<p>• The Awards Show will be a tight and dynamic show with high energy on stage action and exciting onscreen content, along with Awards presentations and world-class entertainment.</p>
<p>• The 2013 ASP World Surfing Awards will take place at the QT Hotel, Surfers Paradise.</p>
<p>Tickets are on sale for $250 (excl. GST and booking fees).</p>
<p>The ASP World Surfing Awards will be held on Thursday 28 February 2013 from 6.30pm</p>

<p><strong>GOLD COAST, Queensland/Australia (Friday, February 24, 2012) – </strong>The 29th Annual ASP World Surfing Awards went off tonight at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre with the world’s best surfers trading the beachwear for formal attire as the 2011 ASP World Champions were officially crowned.</p>
<p>Kelly Slater (USA), 40, and Carissa Moore (HAW), 19, took top honours for the evening, collecting the ASP World Title and ASP Women’s World Title respectively.</p>
<p>“I have actually been on tour longer than some of my fellow competitors have been alive,” Slater said. “All joking aside, it’s truly humbling to be up here and honoured in front of such an incredible collection of surfers. I want to thank everyone in the room for pushing me to where I am.”</p>
<p>In addition to honouring the 2011 ASP World Champions, the ASP World Surfing Awards included new accolades voted on by the fans and the surfers themselves.</p>
<p>For the first time in several years, ASP Life Membership was awarded to Hawaiian legend and icon of high-performance surfing, Larry Bertlemann (HAW), 56.</p>
<p>“Where surfing is today is where I dreamed it should be in the 70’s,” Bertlemann said. “You guys absolutely deserve this and I’m so honored to be up here in front of you all tonight.”</p>
<p>Grammy Award-winning artists Wolfmother and The Vernons rounded out the night’s entertainment which was all streamed LIVE around the world on YouTube.com.</p>

GOLD COAST, Queensland/Australia (Tuesday, February 21, 2012) –</strong> This Thursday, February 23, 2012, the world’s best surfers will exchange their ocean wear for formal wear as they attend surfing’s night of nights, the 2012 ASP World Surfing Awards. The Gold Coast Exhibition and Convention Centre will play host once again play host to the gala event, with this year’s incarnation adding a number of dynamic new enhancements including headlining entertainment Wolfmother.</p>
<p>This year will mark the first time in history that the ASP World Surfing Awards will be webcast and broadcast LIVE around the world, with the sport’s robust international audience able to enjoy the entirety of the official crowning of the 2011 ASP World Champions.</p>
<p>This Thursday will see historic moments in the crownings of the iconic Kelly Slater (USA) 40, awarded an unprecedented 11th ASP World Title, as South Pacific phenom Carissa Moore (HAW), 20, is awarded her first. Slater and Moore represent the youngest and oldest ASP World Champions in the history of the sport. These two stars will be joined on stage by an array of other awards winners across a variety of categories including new awards voted for by the fans and the surfers themselves.</p>
<p>Sal Masekela will return to host the evening, which will feature a number of entertainment acts including Grammy-Award winners Wolfmother, the Vernons and many more.</p>
<p>The 2012 ASP World Surfing Awards will be webcast LIVE via Youtube as well as streamed via broadcast partners. For the first time in history, a limited number of tickets will be available to the public.</p>

<p><strong>GOLD COAST, Queensland/Australia (Friday, February 25, 2011) –</strong> The Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre welcomed the world’s best surfers last night for the ASP World Surfing Awards.</p>
<p>The gala event witnessed the most notable names in sport trade their boardshorts and bikinis for tuxedos and dresses for an evening of live music, blue carpets,</p>
<p>Kelly Slater (USA), 39, accepted his history-making and unprecedented tenth ASP World Title with grace and humility and one of the most touching speeches of the evening, dedicating his 2010 title to former rival and friend, Andy Irons (HAW), 32, who tragically passed away last November.</p>
<p>Stephanie Gilmore (AUS), 23, was another to make history last night, collecting her fourth consecutive ASP Women’s World Title. Gilmore noted a recent sponsorship change from long-time supported Rip Curl to Quiksilver as well as her commitment to take on the world’s best in 2011.</p>
<p>Slater and Gilmore headlined a bevy of phenomenal performers in front of a capacity audience at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.</p>
